Company history

2010

Company foundation

With the goal of digitalizing maintenance in the ropeway industry in mind, Remec was launched in 2010. The SAMBESI maintenance software for ropeways is launched and we take over the technical management for ropeway customers – triggered by the Cable Car Act, which came into force in 2007 and requires operators to provide evidence of their duty of care. New instruments are required that are still unknown to the ropeway industry: Work processes must be defined and maintenance must be digitalized.

2015

SAMBESI For water utilities and representation Austria

Following the successful implementation of SAMBESI for cable cars, new sectors with similar framework conditions and requirements were considered. SAMBESI is being used for the first time in the water supply sector. Five years after the company was founded, we decided to open a representative office in Austria in order to provide our EU customers with the best possible service.

2018

KASSANDRA for destinations

Eight years after the company was founded, KASSANDRA is launched. The software enables mountain railway regions to plan their operations easily and accurately.

2020

SIFAMA for Facility/Infrastructure/Industry

With the acquisition of SIFAMA, an application from Spillmann Informatik GmbH, customers from the facility, infrastructure and industry sectors can also be optimally served since 2020. Over 70 customers manage their operations with SIFAMA in 2020.

2021

POLLUX for mountain destinations and representation of French-speaking Switzerland

POLLUX is expanding Remec's product portfolio in 2021. With the destination simulator, entire mountain regions can be simulated with one click, bottlenecks can be identified and strategies can be developed based on data. With a representative office in French-speaking Switzerland, we can optimally serve French-speaking Switzerland and France with our products and services and are even closer to our customers.

Sisag Group

Remec AG is part of Sisag Holding AG, which also includes Sisag AG, sharecomm ag and SisCampus AG. At our site in Schattdorf in the canton of Uri, we have created an inspiring place of work and training with the SisCampus extension, where over 200 employees from all over Central Switzerland are responsible for the success of the Group.

Remec AG offers a comprehensive range of services in matters of due diligence for ropeway operators, industrial companies and facility managers. In addition to professional advice and the introduction of our SAMBESI maintenance software, this also includes taking over the technical operations management of ropeway systems or acting as their deputy. We also develop customized software applications for our customers in industry and administration.

Sisag builds complex control and process control systems for passenger and freight transportation. Our core competencies are control systems for tourist and urban cable cars and for road transportation. Our systems are developed, planned, manufactured, tested, installed on site and put into operation by us. SisCampus AG takes care of the Sisag Group's physical well-being with the «54. Hochgenuss» restaurant and offers enjoyment with a view. Customers and guests can stay overnight in twelve stylish rooms and hold their own events in various seminar rooms. The entire SisCampus offer is also open to the public and is therefore available to everyone.
